“OPEN A” PHOTO FINISH AND KRISTEN RODRIGUES HAD THE PASS OF THE NIGHT!

With the temperatures down to the cool upper 80’s, the break from the heat wave didn’t cool down any of the heat on the track. Some of the best racing of the night happened in the Open C class with Kristen Rodrigues making a daring pass on lap 6 to take the lead. Kristen had already won the 250 C class and was really flying around the track. Rider Meiring continues his win streak in the Fast 50cc class and Jackson Joiner was flying on his 65cc to win the 65cc class.

The 85cc class was an exciting race as we 114d Oliver Cox got the whole shot and led for much of the race with 142e Kawasaki mounted Brody Davis finding a small opening going into turn one on lap 6 to take the lead. The Yamaha mounted Cox regrouped and made a hard charge back and was on the hind wheel of Davis at the finish.

If you think you’re too old to race or too old to go fast. Then you haven’t seen 12f “Fast Freddy Bennett” get around a track. Freddy is 74 and still one of the fastest guys on the track. In the Vintage 50+ class he passed leader #6h Robert McDonnell about halfway through the race for the win.

The Open A class had its most exciting finish of the year with 33s Christian Spurgeon winning over a hard charging #1bp Tony Meiring by less than a wheel. 54v Michael Inderbitzen was third and rookie 27j Jaymes Arnaiz was a close 4th.
The first practice started at 3:00 pm and the last main event was over at 8:25. Great racing, great food, and the sun was barely down when it was over. What great night of racing.
